I always come back to flowers for Mother’s Day. Not the polite kind, but something abundant, a little unruly. Armfuls of peonies, heavy-headed and opening too fast, filling a room before you’ve even set them down.
That feels like the right place to begin.
And then, if you want to extend the gesture beyond the bouquet, here are a few pieces I love this season. Things for the table, for slowing down, for making an ordinary day feel considered:

This one feels like a memory of Provence more than a literal scene. The lavender is there, yes, but softened. Scattered lightly across an ivory ground, framed by that periwinkle border that gives it structure.

I like these for the detail. The vertical pattern gives them movement, and the soft gold catches the light in a way that feels almost like late afternoon. They don’t shout. But you notice them when you sit down.
A proper linen napkin makes it feel like you meant to be there.

These bring in something brighter. That citrus tone, almost sharp at first, then warm.
These ceramics elevate any meal. Olive oil, grilled vegetables, a simple grilled fish.

Loopy Abaca Placemats (Navy & Natural)
There’s something very grounding about these. The texture, the weight of them on the table. They hold everything in place visually without competing. And they wear well, which matters. These are the pieces that stay out, that become part of daily life rather than something you bring out only for occasions.

I don’t always use napkin rings, but when I do, I prefer something like this. Natural, a bit oversized, nothing too delicate.
They give just enough structure without feeling formal. Easy to mix in, easy to forget about, which is usually a good sign.

A journal is always a bit of a gesture. Not just an object, but an invitation. To write things down, to notice, to keep something of the day.
The fabric cover gives it weight, something you want to leave on a bedside table or slip into a bag.

St. Tropez Blue Stripes Tablecloth
And then this. Wide blue and white cabana stripes, very direct. It has that coastal ease to it. You can set it with almost anything and it holds.
I think of long lunches that drift into the afternoon, glasses left on the table, nothing rushed.
⸻
If the bouquet is the beginning, these are the pieces that let your love for mom linger a little longer.
Nothing too precious. Just things that make a table, or a moment, feel like it was worth paying attention to.
