Provence Village: Eygalières

Provence Village: Eygalières

The village of Eygalières is a picturesque village that typifies that charm of Provence. It is set near the Alpilles mountains, which give the village a backdrop that takes one's breath away. This is a village with rich history, a vibrant food culture and one that is worth savoring for its narrow cobblestone streets, charming stone houses, and colorful flower-filled balconies. It is peaceful and realxing, even in the busy summer months of Provence.

Exploring the Village As you wander through the streets of Eygalières, you'll be greeted by a myriad of delights. Admire the well-preserved medieval architecture, including the 12th-century church of Saint Sixte, which stands as a testament to the village's rich history. Take a leisurely stroll to Place de la Mairie, the central square, and soak in the vibrant ambiance while sipping a cup of coffee at one of the charming cafés. Don't miss the opportunity to visit the local art galleries and boutiques, where you can find unique handmade crafts and artworks by talented local artists. The village is also home to several Michelin-starred restaurants, offering a gastronomic experience that showcases the flavors of Provence.

Our favorite place to make a reservation for a lovely meal is Chez Paulette, where the food is traditionally French, seasonal, low-key and just delicious.

Surrounded by rolling hills, olive groves, and vineyards, Egalières is a paradise for nature lovers. Strolling up the main village street will lead one to the ancient 12-century church, where one can admire the panoramic vistas of the Provençal countryside.
