Lumières Célestes: 600 Angels

Six hundred glass angels hover beneath the vaults of Notre-Dame de la Major in Marseille.

In Lumières Célestes, artist Marcoville works with discarded glass, fragments once rejected, reshaping them by hand and allowing them to catch and reflect light.

Glass refelcts what surrounds it. A church invites another kind of reflection.

The installation marries both.
