All the Little (and Not-So-Little) Details

Pinterest is an amazing place, with so many amazing ideas. There’s endless inspiration for the holidays!

Christmas Baubles Abound

Holiday ornaments make great place card holders, not to mention they’re so simple.

They’re also great for adding a festive touch to your napkin rings and wine glasses.

Buy a set of clear ones and you could invite your guests to get creative!

Display them in a lantern or vase…

Ornaments in cupcake tiers are so simple to make, but they look fantastically festive!

Dress it up with some ribbons and greenery.

Ring in the Holidays

Silver garlands make the simplest of napkin rings, but can be so pretty when paired with the right flatware

Get extra festive with holly and itty-bitty pinecones (cinnamon sticks would also look and smell great with holly).

If red’s not a part of your color scheme, white berries or hydrangeas work just as well.

The Waterworks

I don’t know why submerging plants in water makes for such great decorations, but it does. The idea is really simple, but the result can be quite enchanting.

These charming little tea lights can be taken home as party favors!

These three pieces (holly, a glass, and tea lights) can also be switched around to make a waterless wonder.

If you can’t find any holly, cranberries and herb sprigs work just as well.

For those lucky enough to live where it snows, you can make an ice wreath and hang it out in the front.

Or bring the freeze indoors with a holiday ice bucket! Between Naps on the Porch has an easy tutorial for making your own. Just be sure to keep a dish underneath; you wouldn’t want it melting all over the table.

Alternatively, you could use this idea to make beautiful ice lanterns. Oh My! Creative has a tutorial for these ice lanterns, but the concept is pretty similar to the ice bucket.

The Ceiling’s the Limit

Why stop at creating a beautiful tablescape when you can have a dazzling overhead display too?

You could always hang some snowflakes or colorful lights, but if you have a chandelier over the table, try wrapping it in garlands and foliage (a few ornaments here and there helps too). There’s so much opportunity for making your overhead lights a stunning holiday display.

For those who don’t have any lights hanging directly over the table, I have a very cool idea for you…

Well, this could still probably be done with lights around it. And it doesn’t even have to be over the table.

Branch and Ornaments Hanging from Ceiling

Isn’t it cool though? I bet your guests wouldn’t expect it. Unless one of them is an avid branch hanger, I guess.

Making an Entrance

While this is totally unrelated to the table, I just thought I’d show a few examples of how you can “wow” your guests when they arrive!

This dazzling doorway is inspired by nature. Almost reminds me of our Winter Garden Wreath!
